about Adventureland

Adventureland has been a staple in the Des Moines metro area since 1974. They’ve entertained thousands of adults and kids alike with over one hundred rides, shows, and attractions. Opening in the spring and closing in the fall, they’re a seasonal operation that supplies endless summer fun along the way!

Over the last two years, Adventureland opened almost 15 new rides, including The Flying Viking roller coaster. The infamous log ride, new and improved, also returned in 2023 after closing in 2015 due to its old age and difficulty repairing. Their many renovations are largely in preparation for the upcoming 2024 season in which the amusement park will be celebrating their 50 year anniversary! In addition to the park, they also have an inn and campground just steps away from the fun!
