Des Moines Symphony treats Hummingbirds to a show

Who doesn’t love a night out? And what better reason than to witness a local demonstration of the arts!? The Des Moines Symphony Orchestra is one of both Iowa and the Midwest’s premiere arts institutions. They invited hummingbirds to enjoy a fun night out and share about their experience with the community!

 
 

about Des Moines Symphony

Des Moines Symphony Associations’ mission is, “to enrich, educate and inspire our community by performing great orchestral music. Joseph Giunta has been the Music Director since 1989 and helped it build an impressive national reputation.

One thing to note is the establishment of the Des Moines Symphony Academy in 2003, where renowned professional musicians teach students of all ages. The Symphony is also a principal resident of the Des Moines Civic Center, which seats over 2,000 audience members.

Selected hummingbirds and a guest were invited to join them for a fun night of trivia or a live musical performance.

Every hummingbird raved about their experience and many commented that they couldn’t wait to do it again. The word ‘beautiful’ was used numerous times to describe the concert by grammy-nominated pianist, Joyce Yang. One young viewer even left inspired to learn how to play the piano himself!
