step 1: Switch to Creator or Business Account
Step by step instructions:
Open the Instagram app.
Go to your profile and tap the hamburger in the upper right corner.
Tap “settings”
Select “account”
Click ‘Switch to a Professional Account’ and select your category.
Select ‘Creator’ or ‘Business.’

To connect a Facebook Page to your Instagram Creator or Business account:
On the Instagram app, go to your profile
Select “Edit Profile”
Under Public Business Information, Select “Page”
Choose a Page from your existing Pages that you’d like to connect or select “Create a New Facebook Page.” This is just for Hummingbirds; it won’t be publicized to your network.
step 3: integrate your creator account into the hummingbirds platform
Head to the platform and the navigation bar. Select “my profile” > “social networks.” This will open up the opportunity to connect your Instagram and Facebook accounts to get the badge.
DO YOU HAVE A PROFESSIONAL FACEBOOK ACCOUNT?
Even if you integrate completely above using the steps but you have a professional Facebook account, your content won’t be able to pull in. Here’s how to quickly check and remove if you choose.
Why switch to a creator account?
No changes to your Instagram profile
Switching from a personal to a Creator of Business account does not visibly change anything about your account if you do not want it to. In fact, no one will know that you switched your account type unless you activate the features that come with it. Learn more about creator accounts.
Enhanced profile in the platform
Hummingbirds with Creator or Business accounts that are also linked to Facebook will receive a badge in the platform showing that they have Enhanced Profiles. Because the posts and data are easier to access, some brands are more likely to select hummingbirds with this Enhanced Badge.
Less work for you
When you switch from a personal account to a Creator account and connect it to your Facebook page, it allows us to pull your campaign post into our dashboard using the Meta Graph API. (We will never pull data from your posts that are not affiliated with Hummingbirds.)
Post notifications
When you’re a Creator or Business account, we can scan your post and let you know immediately if you met all requirements. For example, if you forgot a hashtag or misspelled a brand’s Instagram handle, you can see that directly in the platform and easily update your post. This way, you won’t receive pesky messages from us asking you to update a post that’s missing information.
Happy brands
Switching to a Creator or Business account gives us access to data in real time directly in our platform so we can provide accurate results to the brands we work with. It will also keep the data up to date as your posts receive more reactions, comments, views, etc. over time.
